Of course, things really picked up once she realized they had M&M's in them!
Hmmm, where are more of those chocolate filled eggs?
We spent lots of time with Grandma and Pop Pop, or as I like to call them - my free babysitters! Grandma made Grace a Quiet Book. It was quite the hit. It's a book filled with "things that do stuff" A felt horse with a tail that snaps on and off, the number 2 with two red hearts next to the number. Of course the hearts velcro on and off, so they are interactive too. A purse full of goodies, etc.
In true Grandma fashion, my mom took it to the next level. This thing is more of a "Quiet Novel" it's 18 pages long! I'm hoping it lives up to its name and is something she can play with quietly while I get some chores done.
She loved that horse tail that came on and off!
It also came with a little pouch full of alphabet flash cards. They were a hit as well.
And we had to bake treats too. Grace loves "helping" out in the kitchen. She thinks the Kitchen Aid is the coolest thing ever, mostly because every time we use it we end up with a cake, cookies or a batch of brownies. It's good news when she sees that thing come out. Brownies were the dessert of the day on Saturday.
Here is the "before" picture. We both like to wear our aprons when cooking. It's so cute to see her in her little Strawberry Shortcake apron up on the stool in the kitchen. I'm hoping one day to see her over there cooking dinner for me!
Funny, I look the same way when I eat brownie batter :-)
Lastly, baby number 2 seems to be doing well. I have another appointment in 10 days. This is normally the appointment when you can find out what you're having. We're still opting out of that. The funny thing is, I think my friends and family are way more curious to know what we're having than we are. I thought the suspense would kill me, but it doesn't bother me at all.
I keep going back and forth on what I think we're having. Mostly I get the 'girl' vibe because I can't imagine myself with anything else now that we already have a girl. But, when I step back and compare pregnancies I do notice quite a few things different. I was sick about the same with both, but feel more energetic this time around (possibly becuase I haven't been fully rested in over 21 months) I don't crave sweets AT ALL (unlike my cinnamon toast crunch cereal binge that lasted my entire pregnancy with Grace) and am actually craving meat and *gasp* veggies. I also haven't had any heartburn this time around either.
We shall see. Next week I'll probably go back to being convinced it's a girl. So, be praying for a healthy baby to appear during that ultrasound! That's what I've been focusing on. I can't wait to see him/her in 10 days!
