Week 25

This was quite a busy week at the Gore house. I spent Saturday wedding dress shopping with my friend Laura and then managed to spend the rest of the day de-cluttering old boxes in our garage. I was on my feet all day and actually felt better than I have in a long time. I had quite a bit of energy, so I kept going and going like the Energizer Bunny. Then, we spent Sunday getting the babies room emptied out and ready for the crib that we are picking up this weekend (Thank you Kirsten!!). Once we have the crib in there, the decorating will begin. I hope to be able to post some pictures in the coming weeks.

Apparently that was more activity than my prego body could handle because my back started aching really badly by Sunday evening and I was basically bed ridden on Monday and part of Tuesday. I had such extreme back pain that I was having trouble even getting out of bed and walking. Not fun! I even had a few Braxton Hicks contractions on Monday when I got on my treadmill to walk really slowly in hopes of stretching out my back. I got up to the brisk speed of 1.5 MPH - for those of you wondering, that's a speedy 40 minute mile. Once I felt a few contractions I hit the couch and relaxed and they were gone almost instantly. It was really strange though. I think that way a way for little BG to tell me to chill out. I start physical therapy this Friday for my back, so I hope to be feeling much better soon.

Because I was less mobile, I wasn't able to go grocery shopping. We're officially out of almost everything in the house....including Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Oh, the tragedy! I have a feeling I'll be having a nice bowl of that for dinner tomorrow night after hitting the store. Another craving of the week is strawberry yogurt with granola. Crap, we're out of that too!

We also had our second birthing class last nigh. We talked about and practiced different positions to try during labor and how to monitor and breathe thru contractions. The teacher times our one minute contraction and we sit there breathing. Let me just tell you, that is THE LONGEST MINUTE of all time! I don't even know how long it will feel when I'm actually in labor. Next week, our class is going to watch a birthing video. I'm frankly scared to death of this video. I keep thinking it is going to be similar to the video you see in sex-ed in high school. You know, the video that makes giving birth look so horrifically painful that abstinance is the only option you consider after watching that video. Yeah, that's exactly what I don't want to see. I'll keep you posted.

My book today said that BG is 13 1/2 inches from head to toe and weighs about 1 1/2 pounds. It also told me that BG is about as heavy as, are you ready for this.....a rutabega. What the heck? Again, another food that I know nothing about! I think the "Your Pregnancy Week by Week" update from babycenter.com should change the title to "Strange foods we will compare your baby to". Seriously people, a rutabega?

Here is my 25 week picture. I totally gave up on the bare belly shot.

Keep listening to your body! Shots of Tributiline are not fun!
I love to see your belly progress! You are so cute prego! Do you guys have names picked out? I probably shouldn't ask because Erik always wanted our names to be a secret.....
