This, That & Then Some

Grace has been loving life lately. It probably has something to do with the sunshing, skinny-dipping and popsicle eating she has been doing these past few days. Let's face it, could you ask for anything more in life?

Unfortunately, I don't have any swimming pool pictures to share just yet. I decided to hop into the kiddie pool with her yesterday since I was so hot and inadvertantly made several appearances in her cute pool pictures. I'll probably be doing some cropping in the near future before posting those pictures of me just floundering around in a maternity suit looking like a giant porpoise. Grace thought it was great fun swimming with mommy and asks me to get in with her all the time now.

I have to admit, it was heaven! All I was missing was 1) a body that looks great in a swimsuit, and 2) an umbrella drink. Hopefully those things will be in my future for next summer! This weather is wonderful, but when you're pregnant, 75 degrees might as well be 750 degrees. The kiddie pool was a wonderful benefit.

Grace has also been very talkative lately. She loves to chat about anything and often rattles off these stream-of-consciousness type sentences like "mommy, kick, pool, swim, up high, water, bubbles." along with actual sentences like "Gace swim now." So cute! She also talke a lot about her jammies. They are a major part of her bed time routine and I even let her pick out her jammies before bedtime now. Of course, that usually means giving her the option to choose between 2, but she think it's great. Here are a few pictures of her in her Heart Jammies.

In other news, we have started quasi-potty training. One day, Grace just decided she was ready to use the potty at a certain time every day. Since then she's been peeing on the potty regularly after Breakfast and Sesame Street time. I started realize that she actually pees on a pretty regular schedule and have really been trying to take advantage of it over the past week since I've been home from the hospital.

We've had some days (today being one of them) where she's used the potty 4 times in one day! Of course, throwing a big celebration and giving her chocolate afterwards is quite the motivation. We'll see where this takes us, but for now I'm pretty impressed! She has actually started telling me when she has to go and we rush to the potty and throw a big celebration when she's done. It's so cute. I realized that she will go potty if she's wearing a diaper or if she's wearing underpants but she will hold it if she's naked and then go when given the opportunity. So, we've been trying to capitalize on that theory and spending some naked time both inside and outside. So far, so good, but I have a feeling I'll have plenty of messes to clean up in my future.

Now, off to put my feet up and hydrate....
