Baby Gore - 29 Weeks and Counting

Poor Baby Gore, you are already getting the short end of the stick! This is officially my 2nd pregnancy shot this time around. And to think I took WEEKLY shots with Grace. I have a feeling this is only the beginning of this child getting neglected!

We have had some interesting happenings this week. I was in the hospital for a few days thanks to some unexpected bleeding on Monday night. It was really scary at the time but God is Good and I had the 'best case scenario' as soon as I got to the hospital. Once I arrived, the bleeding stopped, never to return again. I was there till Wednesday and was discharged and sent home on bedrest for a few days. I should be able to resume normal activity by the weekend if all goes well 'uneventfully'. Not sure how this is going to work with a toddler at home. I have a feeling there will be lots of Sesamie Street in Graces near future. Oh well.

On the up side, I had an ultrasound to check on the baby and could see his/her cute little face. S/he is a good size and measuring a week ahead of schedule. Good news! Since I was only able to see Grace at my 20 week U/S and then not again until she was born, this was a real treat. It's amazing to see how much they change in just 10 weeks. The parinatologist (SP?) was happy with the ultrasound, so he just kept me in the hospital long enough to receive a first round of steriod shots to boost the babies lung development in the event I have another 'episode' and the baby comes early. The steroids should bring the babies lung devlopment to that of a 32 week old baby, which apparently take them out of the real danger zone for premature birth. Either way, I'd like to keep this cute little bun in the oven for as long as possible!

They did discover that I have a low lying placenta, but didn't give me much more information than that. It was most likely the cause of the sudden bleeding, but everything is intact, so they were unconcerned at the time. Of cousre, I jumped on the internet to researach what it means and everything I found indicates a c-section delivery! Eeek! I have my next scheduled appt with my doc next week and will find out more then. I was too overwhelmed to ask when I was in the thick of it at the hospital, but now I have questions galore.

That's all for now!

Praying for you Jamie. All that sounds scary, but God is good. How's the heart? Is that still causing problems too?

Hope you're doing well and getting some rest. Love you friend.

We will keep you all in our prayers, so glad to hear you're doing better and baby Gore seems to be staying put for now :)

Thanks everyone! Doing much better, although bed rest with a 2 yo is nearly impossible. We've been watching lots of Elmo :-) If all goes well, I should be back to normal by next week.

The heart is actually doing well. My cardiologist said that sometimes that 'condition' comes and goes by mid-pregnancy. Thank God! I feel like I'm falling apart! Eeek!
