Week 18

This week Baby Gore is about 5 1/2 inches long from crown to rump and about half of a pound. For those of you who like the 'food comparison', that's about the size of a bell pepper. I'm starting to feel like I am getting quite a bit bigger. Not the best picture this week, it was a self portrait I took this morning before running to work.

This has been a pretty exciting week. I starte to feel BG moving around! I expected some sort of faint tap-tap feeling, or a butterfly feeling but this kid went straight to super-active. It feels like BG is doing back flips at different points throughout the day. I think we may have one active kid on our hands.
I have been getting in some pretty regular exercie and have noticed that it really gives me more energy and makes me feel better over all. I still don't feel like I'm back to my pre-pregnancy energy level, but I can't complain. I do tend to get a nap in on the weekends though and feel much better afterwards.
It really feels like time is flying by now. We can't wait to see the ultrasound in 2 weeks and will feel so much better after we have it. I have a feeling the stress of worrying about the baby is something I'll be dealing with for the next 18+ years, but I can't help but worry about everything being OK. Hopefully the ultrasound will bring some reassurance. I also can't believe it's only 2 weeks before we find out if we're having a son or a daughter! So exciting. Looks like 'girl' is winning out on the poll so far. Do you all know something I don't?
That's all for now. Aaron needs the laptop for his never-ending homework. Ta ta!
