I just can't believe we are almost half way to meeting our little one! The baby has been doing some serious growing. It is now 6 inches long and about half of a pound. My book, which always compares the babies size to food no one has heard of, said it is about the size of an heirloom tomato. Yeah, not a very common food huh? I think I need to write my own book and compare the baby to something that actually makes sense and is common enough that I know what that means without having to Google it. It doesn't seem that long ago that the baby was being compared to a kidney bean. I feel like time is really going by quickly.
We have our ultrasound scheduled for next Thursday. I can't wait to see how the baby is developing...hopefully it will give me some peace of mind. I'm constantly worrying about the health of the baby. I'm sure this is just preparing me for worrying for the next 20 years. We also get to find out the sex of the baby then too. So exciting! Looks like the votes are 50/50 right now between boy and girl.
I also feel like I'm starting to actually look a bit more pregnant. I did have someone come up and ask me out of the blue if I was expecting. They were either extremely brave, or I'm actually starting to look a bit more preggers. See for yourself.
I'm still feeling good. I have my treadmill now and am usually on it between 3 and 4 times a week. I'm hoping to be able to keep that up thru the duration of my pregnancy. I'm sure I'll be moving really slowly by the end, but as long as I keep moving I'll be happy.
I did feel as though I had a small dose of parenthood last weekend. Oreo got really sick and I had to take her to check her in to the vet for a while for testing and fluids. Nothing like cleaning up cat puke to set the tone for the day. She is doing great now but apparently ate some sort of poison, we think it was fertilizer from the grass, and was really sick. For those of you who are counting, she has officially used up 2 of her 9 lives so far. Other than that, Casa de Gore has been fairly uneventful.
