She has still been quite active and I think she's been having hiccups the past few days. I keep feeling this repetitive tiny movement in my belly that's as frequent as a pulse rate. It seems to only last 5-10 times but I know it's not a kick. When I was reading my prego book(s) (remember, I have like 9 of them) last night, they were saying the baby can develop hiccups at this point.
In other news, Aaron and I officially graduated from our birthing class on Tuesday. Apparently we are 'approved' to have children now :-) Which leads me to think....too bad there wasn't an actual 'approval process' you had to pass before procreation! I always think of that when I'm in a public place and surrounded by crazy kids. I digress..... this last birthing class was much better than the one where we watched the actual drug/no-drug videos. We did watch a video, but it was of a c-section. I gotta say, it was the only video that didn't totally freak me out. I did feel horribly sorry for the woman in the video though. It wasn't a planned c-section and she was in labor for 15 hours and pushed for 3 without any luck. Then she did a c-section. Not exactly what I would call an ideal experience...but, the actual c-section part didn't scare me as much as the other vidos.
I'm still feeling a bit stiff and experiencing back pain. I was finally able to start swimming this week. Once I got over the initial horror of actually having to squeeze myself into a swim suit for all the world to see, I was loving it. I had to modify an existing 2 piece and will be swinging by Target on the way to home to buy a maternity swim suit. Let's just say, it's not a pretty sight. I looked like this giant porpoise floundering around in the water. Seriously, if I was not stupid from pregnancy, I wouldn't be caught dead EVER doing that again. But, I've been in so much pain that I was willing to try anything...and it worked!
As usual, I must give some sort of food update (if for no other reason than the fact Laura likes them :-) While I didn't really find any new food this week that I fell in love with, I did find an old favorite that I don't think I'll ever like again. Are you ready for this (drum roll please).....tequila! Now, before you think I'm the most horrible mother ( I can hear the gasps already) let me give a little context. I was out with family for my sister's birthday last Friday and we went to one of her favorite Mexican restaurants (btw, my chicken chimichanga and I became BFF's that night. Not only was it delish, but the heartburn lasted all night long too!). At the restaurant, I ordered a virgin blackberry margarita - another new favorite - and my mom and sister ordered regular margaritas. My mom got a regular blackberry and my sister got a margarita on the rocks. I tried a sip of my sisters and about lost it. The taste was HORRIBLE! I swear, the tequila in that drink tasted like gasoline - seriously nasty. I was quite happy to go back to my virgin blackberry margarita. I was pretty surprised. Usually i love margaritas, but I think I'm off the wagon...or is it on the wagon....for the long haul. One think I'm really looking forward to, though, is drinking wine and beer! O'doules non-alcoholic beer is the grossest thing around, but I drink it with a smile because it quenches that beer craving. Can't wait for a lovely, frothy, cold micro-brew.
Lastly, here are my pictures. I finally did another belly one. What can I say, after the pool incident I've seemed to lose all sense of decency. Also included an extreme close up. I didn't think I looked as prego in the regular picture as I normally do, so Aaron took an extreme close up. Again - probably as a result of the loss of decency.

Congratulations on being approved for parenthood! Keep that certificate for those times in the "teenage" years where she wants different parents!
It's totally weird, but you can't tell how far along you in the bare belly pick. Although MAJOR kudos to you for posing sans cotton.
I still think from the back no one would be able to tell you were prego. You look fabulous.
Prego swim suits aren't great. They may fit the belly better, but the bottoms are horrible. I almost would've done the Madonna-prego-bikini shot than buy a maternity suit. I don't have that much guts!
Yay! It's getting close! Doesn't swimming feel fabulous while your pregnant?! I took M to swim class while I was pregnant with J. It was lovely...except the hotness of my shamu-like self. lol. The kids were in swim class when I was pregnant w/ K & I made E take the class w/ J, (not a chance that I was getting in a suit at 9mo). I watched on the side of the pool while E looked extremely uncomfortable being the only male in the class. It was rather comical.
I totally get your beer craving. I don't know if you're planning on nursing or not, but Erik loves that I can actually have a beer with him, (I only have about a 1/2 cup). We split a Guinness a few nights a week. It helps with milk production & is just enough to cut the craving. lol. I'm really not a lush...I just love a good beer every now & then. We've actually been discussing opening a brewery...maybe someday.
Anyhow, you look fabulous. All belly!
you look great jamie! love the updates and i might have to try swimming... could be interesting ;)
I totally need to email your belly shots to you!!!
I love your pics. Can't wait to see a bikini pic LOL!
